Making a Mental List.

Hey all,

This is going to be a super short post, because I'm not supposed to be on the computer right now because we need to leave for my cottage! So bear with me because it may be a little choppy.
Praying. I find that sometimes when I pray, alot of things get scattered and I have to start over and I tend not to make alot of sense. I know God understands me even when I don't understand myself, but I guess I'm just one of those people that likes to feel like they know what they're saying. I've also found that when I pray alot, sometimes all I pray is to say thank you for things. Sometimes it's only to ask for help with things. BUT, I've made a new challenge for myself, and I ask you guys to try it out too! When you're praying, pray for as many thank you's as you do prayers for help, guidance etc. So if I prayed to say thank you for 5 things, pray for help for 5 things. You get it? I found this helps me balance things out, because the truth it, there's ALWAYS things that I can be working on and there's always things that I can say thank you for.

I'm not going to be here for 2 weeks, so this will be my last blog post!
Have a great rest of July everybody!

Happy Saturday. :)

Fireflies.

Hey everyone,

I'm not 100% sure if anyone is reading this, as it is summer and it's hard to find the time to just sit down and chill out at the computer when there's so much beautiful weather to enjoy outside! But, in all fairness, I said I would do some blogging over the summer, so whether you guys read it or not, here it is. I'm leaving home for camp this Sunday, the 18th and am back the 31st. So, there will most definitely be no blog action from me for those 2 weeks. BUT, onto the blogging when I am at home and have access to a computer!
Fireflies. They are absolutely stunning. Have any of you had the privilege of seeing these beautiful creatures? I know it may seem a little crazy to say they're beautiful, because come on, they're bugs. But, when you think about it, these are bugs that light up and shine to the world. They are small and delicate and breakable, just like us. Compared to the big strong God we have, we are just tiny little earthlings who can shatter at any point. So, when I saw these bugs lighting up the tall grass at my cottage the other week, I was overcome with emotion.
We have such an indescribable, AMAZING God. He created these tiny little wonders. He is so powerful and wondrous that he could bring to life these phenomenal bugs. I don't know why, and I don't think I ever will, but I believe that they are one of those little, simple things that God created to make us stop and think, and to put a smile on our faces.
So, I ask you guys to stop and smell the flowers the next time you walk by a pretty garden. To stand and admire the clouds in all their majesty, and ultimately, be grateful for the small but beautiful things around us. Even when the big stuff seems to swallow everything up and it makes everything else around us seem trivial, there are tiny little miracles everywhere you look.

Happy Wednesday guys! :)
Hope you're enjoying the summer!
