Getting Better.

Hey all,

I've recentley taken up rollerblading. My brother and I usually go, but alot of the time I go by myself. I plug myself into my Ipod and hit the road. Don't worry, I make sure the music is quiet enough I can hear the cars! At the beginning, I was absolutely horrible. I'm not the best skater in the world, so rollerblading wasn't much easier. Honestly, if you were driving, I'd say clear the road. I was a mess. But, I stuck with it and slowly got better. I'm still no master, but I can stop and slow down and move without falling all the time. But what would have happened if I'd just thrown in the towel after the first try and said, Nope. I'm done. It's hard, I look like an idiot trying, I don't care? I would have given up on something I know now that I really like.
Your relationship with God is like that too. So is mine. So is his and her's. We're all getting better. At the beginning of my relationship with God, I wasn't really sure if He was there, but I didn't give up on Him. There have been moments when I've questioned if everything's real and if there's a point to life, but I didn't stop believing.
So I challenge you guys to look at your relationship with God the same way you did with something you stuck to even when you thought it was hard. Maybe learning to play the flute or getting to a new level on your Gameboy. You did it right? And I bet you're really happy that you stuck with it.
God's always there, always willing to listen to whatever happens to come out of your mouth. So don't stop. You're always getting better.

Happy Friday!

Peggy's Cove.

Hey all,

How have you all been? Hopefully good, even though summer's coming to a close! This post is going to be about a part of my summer actually. I went out East with my family for about 10 days. We travelled through Nova Scotia and PEI, and I must say, if you have never seen the ocean, it is painstakingly beautiful. For weeks I imagined what it would be like to see it, because I'd heard stories of the waves and the sounds and the majesty of it.
One of the days, we went to Peggy's Cove, NS. For those of you that have been there and for those of you that have not, you may or may not know that it is a MAJOR tourist attraction. People from all over the world come to see it. When I was there, I could literally stand in one spot and I would hear people speaking French, English, Spanish and German or something in all directions. Very cool. BUT, the point of the spot is the lighthouse. To my knowledge, it is one of the most photographed lighthouses in the WORLD. The WORLD! How cool is that?
So, when I stood there, staring at this huge, photographed, old and important lighthouse and watched the waves crash on the eroded rocks behind it, all I could think was, How beautiful is our God? The only way that I think I could describe the ocean is powerful. The waves could swallow you up in seconds and the depth of it is mindblowing. God created that. God created the things that we can't even comprehend. He understands their compexity and their special features. Sound familiar? It's just like us. We're like the ocean and the rocks and the sky and the wind. We're unique and beautiful and created for a purpose and a reason. Whether it be to blow the leaves around in the fall or to take people on boats from one land mass to another, we have a purpose.

Happy Summer guys!
